In August the green brush lands around Wawa are transformed into a sea of blue with the onset  of blueberry season. Wild blueberry picking is popular with the locals with more than enough berries to go around.

Beginning in mid-July there is an opportunity to pick eatable mushrooms,   a perfect chance to harvest wild mushrooms for your winter kitchen.

Both my wife Eugenia and I were born in Poland   where there is a strong tradition of wild mushroom picking. We both started at age three years and have loved it ever since. We would be happy to guide you and offer help with cooking,   dehydration and preparation.
